MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (MLS / MLIS, highly preferred)
- 1-3 years of previous experience in a library (preferably public)
Part time: This is a part-time position (up to 28 hours per week) - evenings and Saturdays schedule, with prorated vacation, personal, sick, and holiday time. There is an initial 3-month probation period for all employees.
The person in this position will be responsible for the staff and the building, during their evening and Saturday shift, or when needed.
- Provide reference services
- Assist at the circulation desk
- Set up, breakdown, ensure that the program space / meeting room is ready for the next day’s event
- Perform all closing procedures, including opening during Saturday shift
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Salary: starts at $19.19 an hour for library assistants, commensurate with experience. *20 hours or more receives pro-rated vacation, personal, sick time, and holidays in accordance with Board approved Employee Handbook.
The Part Time Evening and Weekend (Saturday) Librarian / Library Assistant works under the supervision of the Library Director.
